Concrete Protection Covers essentially
provide a degree of physical protection whilst serving to locate and identify
all manner of cable. A select choice of key-size units facilitate just such protection
on an extremely economical basis. Hydraulically pressed apexed service protection
covers are manufactured and impact tested to the higher requirements of BS4482
and are reinforced with hard drawn steel wire in accordance with BS4482.
These units carry the international Danger sign, clearly impressed into the upper
face in letters 25mm or 40mm in height, depending on the size of the cover, and
3.2mm minimum depth. Care should be taken in considering the specifications
of cover sizes, in that the width of the cover should be wider than the service
line over which it is to be placed. The installation of these concave/convex
ended Protection Covers is essentially a simple operation. Basically, this sequence
involves the placing of the covers on a bed of sand or clean fill, directly along
the buried service line.
